All the companies involved in AIRPORTTRANSFERS.BIZ are Public Carriage Office Licensed companies(Except Alma Cars of Earls Colne they are covered by Licences issued by Braintree district council).
All car services like ours of any description anywhere in the UK MUST have a Licence issued by the Public Carriage office (for London Based companies) or a Licence issued by the Borough council which the company operates in. it is a Legal requirement that if you make a booking with any car service they collect and hold the following data for a period of 6 months from the date of hire.

  • Name and contact details of person hiring
  • Date of Booking
  • Date of journey
  • Start point of journey
  • End point of journey
  • How the booking was taken
  • Price quoted
  • The P.C.O licence number (or the badge number for Black taxis) of the company undertaking the transfer

  • This Information is NOT Sold or passed on to anyone outside of AIRPORTTRANSFERS.BIZ in any way at all apart from ourselves only the Public Carriage Office and the Police can access these records anyone else trying to would need a court order which under the data protection act 1994 would probably fail anyway.
    This information we hold about you is stored on computers and paper records the computers which store this information are NOT connected to the internet in anyway and are password protected. We NEVER send ANY unsolicited emails in anyway and after 6 months your information is destroyed.
    Under the Terms of our Public carriage office Licences we also have to keep the following additional information about your transfer
  • Name and proof of address of the driver doing your transfers
  • A Current driving licence for the vehicle driver in force at the time of transfer
  • A Photograph of the driver
  • The Vehicle make model and registration number
  • The vehicle registration document in force at the time of transfer
  • A Ministry of Transport certificate of roadworthiness for the vehicle in force at the time of hire
  • A certificate of Prvate Hire and Reward insurance covering the carriage of passengers for the driver and vehicle in force at the time of transfer
  • A Current and valid Public Carriage Office Licence Number in force at the time of transfer
  • If we sub-contract a transfer to another company within our group we MUST pass all the relevant details to them
  • We MUST only sub-contract transfers to other LICENCED companies

  • All of this information is stored for your protection if you ever need to make a complaint to the Police or public carriage office we MUST supply them with all of the above.
    We also have several other regulations which we must comply with.
  • We MUST supply you with a price on request before commencement of journey
  • We MUST only use vehicles drivers and companies which comply with the P.C.O regulations above
  • We MUST comply with all UK rules and regulations in force at the time of hire
  • We MUST make all these records available to the Public Carriage office or the Police on demand
  • We MUST only take pre-booked journeys (only our Licenced taxis are allowed to Ply for Hire)
  • We MUST make it clear we are a Private hire company and not a Taxi company
  • We MUST supply you with details of our P.C.O. Licences on request
  • We MUST keep a register of Lost property left in our vehicles
  • We MUST keep copies of any and all complaints and their resolutions
  • We MUST make it clear that our trading names are Discovery cars Brian Howell(private hire) To-N-Fro Airporttransfers.biz & Alma Cars of Earls Colne

  • In the UK we have very STRICT race religious and sexual harrasment laws you are entitled to be free from persecution of any or all of the above we MUST comply with all of these laws.

    Complaints Policy

    It doesnt matter if you are a UK resident or a foreign national visiting the UK all the time you are here you have the protection of the UK law we MUST comply with the laws in every way you have several ways of redress if you Feel we have acted illegally or immorally in anyway. In the first instance you should contact us the best way is by EMAIL (complaints@airporttransfers.biz) and we will try our best to resolve your complaint for you. You can also contact the Police however they will ONLY deal with criminal matters.
    You may also make a complaint about us to the Public Carriage Office
    Any and all complaints will be fully investigated and dealt with.
    However some complaints are pointless and just waste everyones time here is where you can avoid a complaint before it arises this is a Shortlist of our most common complaints and resolutions
  • You are ordering a DESTINATION service from us we WILL NOT promise or guarantee to get you anywhere at a specific time (we of course will try our best) If you have a tight connection we will advise you of this at time of booking or enquiring about booking we are NOT responsible for traffic weather conditions act-of-war acts-of God or industrial action of any sort
  • It is a Legal requirement that we do NOT Overload our vehicles (think about how much luggage you have)
  • It is a Legal requirement that each passenger has their own seat designed for the purpose (even babes-in-arms count as a person they MUST have there own seat designed for the purpose)
  • Each Passenger MUST have their OWN seatbelts desinged for the purpose (if you arrive with 5 people and you have only booked a car for four people we would be breaking the law to carry you and if you offer any sort of inducement to the driver to take you you are also commiting an offence)
  • The wearing of seatbelts for front and rear passengers are a LEGAL requirement
  • We are allowed to REFUSE any hiring/booking
  • If you offer any sort of inducment/cohersion to a driver to encourage the driver to break the Law (speeding running red lights ETC) YOU are breaking the law
  • If you cannot lift your luggage because of its weight dont expect our drivers too either
  • Make sure the date you have booked your transfer for is the DATE you ACTUALLY arrive in the UK the UK is 6-9hrs In front of the United States this normally means you arrive here the DAY AFTER you leave The USA
  • When you request a quote or make a booking you are given the price based upon the information you have told us if the information is correct then the price quoted will be the price you pay (IE if you book a car to Oxford our price will be based on that if your actual destination is beyond Oxford we can and will charge you for this Extra mileage) Fare evasion is an offence in the UK

  • These are our most common complaints a little thought beforehand can stop any of these becoming issues once you arrive here.
    OK thats the boring bits out of the way now lets ask you something go and Look at the Internet and look at some our Competitors we havent found anyone of them (yet) that give you details as comprehensive as we have ever wondered why? well its because some rely on your ignorance of UK law and therfore carry you or operate quite illegally for instance they are getting away with it because you the customer dont realise that it is a LEGAL requirement for any company like ours to be licensed.
    If you want to use companies like that and you have any issues or problems with them then basically TOUGH!!! becasue they are unlicensed and operating Illegally there isnt much you can do about it.
    Therefore the onus is on you to check first if you dont and it all goes wrong then the only recourse you will have with these companies is through the Civil courts which is a long-winded and expensive process.
    All the time you are using unlicensed companies you are taking a chance with your health and safety.
    Check the company you are going to use has a licence from the P.C.O if they DONT DONT use them.
