This is our biggest headache time and time again people underestimate the size of vehicle that they need. In the UK the roads are smaller than most countries so the vehicles are smaller than American counterparts This is the amount of luggage space available in a Standard UK saloon (sedan) type car yes it will carry 4 passengers But look at the limited luggage space available. The vehicle featured is a UK specification Renault Megane and is typically of the size of our saloon (sedan) cars.
It will seat 4 Passengers (3 in rear 1 in front) but look at the boot (trunk) just 2 standard size suitcases thats appx 1 Airport trolley full of baggage will fit in it nothing more.
4 people coming to London for a week are likely to have more than 2 suitcases. If you book a Car with us this is the size of vehicle (may be a different make) you are going to get.

This is one of our Estate(station-wagon) Type cars this will seat 4 passengers (3 in rear 1 in front) and will carry 4/5 regular cases appx 2/3 airport trolleys of baggage the featured Mondel is a Ford Mondeo Estate this is the typical size of our Estate (station wagon) type cars However in our experience if you are going on a Cruise or in London for more than a week you are probably going to have more Luggage than this type of car can carry if you book an Estate car with us this is the size of vehicle (may be a different make) that you are going to get.


This is an MPV (minivan) the Toyota Previa featured will carry up to 7 passengers (3 in rear 3 in middle 1 in front) However when used for 6/7 Passengers there is less luggage space than there is in a standard saloon (sedan) type car.

When used for 4 or less passengers our MPV's rear seats are either folded or totally removed in this configuration they can carry up to 8 regular sized cases and all your hand luggage appx 4-6 airport trolleys full of baggage if you are going on a cruise and there are 4 of you this is the vehicle you will need all the others above WILL BE TOO SMALL for your needs.
With 5/6 or 7 Passengers in a MPV there is very little room for luggage so we can supply an additional luggage trailer for you (Below) these will carry enough Luggage for 7 people to go cruising for 2 weeks these are charged at £5:00 extra per journey if you dont ask for one you wont get one

This is typical of one of our 16 seat Ford minibuses it take take up to 16 people BUT with 16 people in it there is NO ROOM for luggage at all!. If up to 12 people use it the rear seats can be removed for luggage space if all 16 seats are being used you need a luggage trailer. If you choose one of our Mini-bus optionsthen remember if you have 8 people going somewhere in an 8 seat minibus there will be NO room for luggage the same applies to our 11 & 16 seat minibuses as well so unless you want to sit with all your luggage on your laps either book a larger vehicle than you need (on the 8/11/16 seat buses we can remove rear seats for Luggage space) or order a luggage trailer priced at £40 extra.

In one week alone this year we had 18 different groups of passengers coming into Heathrow to go to Harwich for a cruise each of these groups were 4 people and 4 or more (in one case I counted 12 suitcases for a party of 4!!!!) Suitcases and in each and every booking despite all the warnings we gave these people they booked a Standard car from us
in many cases we were able to quickly find them a bigger vehicle and we charged them extra for it plus an extra charge for the car that had already turned up.
But sadly in several cases our larger vehicles were not available and we had to tell the passengers that because they had booked the wrong sized vehicle we had no choice but to refuse to carry them
Apart pre-booked Private hire vehicle such as we offer the only option you have at Heathrow are Licenced Taxi's and I can tell you the 4 people that turned up with 12 cases ended up having to get 3 taxis at over £200 ($360) each taxi to get them to Harwich That was probably the most expensive ride that they have ever had to take and it was all their own fault.
I am not going to name and shame these people but here is an extract from a complaint letter we got 3 weeks later. Dear Mr Howell I am most upset with the way your company treated us on our recent cruise transfer when we arrived at Heathrow we met your driver however he straight away told us that he would NOT take us to Harwich because his vehicle was too small I asked him to show us the vehicle which he did and yes it was too small for our needs. I then telephoned your office to arrange a larger vehicle for us only to be told that you had none available for at least 5 hours.
Well I am afraid that was just not good enough we had less than 3 hours to get to our cruise ship and so we ended up paying out over 600 UK pounds for 3 taxis to get us to Harwich on time.
2 days after that we had a letter from this gentlemans attorney telling us we were liable for this amount of money as we hadnt anticipated his clients needs correctly
After I had stopped laughing I replied pointing out that his client had booked the vehicle and his client had to have seen this web page before he made the booking as it "pops-up" over the booking page I also pointed out that on our confirmation which we sent to his client was a warning about luggage space and the need for the right type of vehicle
We havent heard back from this attorney yet...(that was 4 months ago)
The moral here is we can only give you advice on the type of vehicle to choose we are not mind-readers we do not know how much luggage you have unless you tell us if you turn up at the airport and YOU have booked the wrong size of vehicle if really is your own fault we can give you advice but if you choose to ignore it we will NOT be held responsible in any way we ONLY supply the type of vehicle YOU REQUEST Please choose the correct type
