The port of Harwich is nearly 100 miles away from two of London's Major airports and Dover is almost 90 miles from Gatwick and 100 Miles from Heathrow Southampton is almost 100 miles from london and 90 Miles from Gatwick.
At these two airports as well as Harwich Dover and Southampton the Taxi companies that service them are all "Metered" Taxi's this means you pay by the mile as well as by the minute.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realise that getting a cab to/from the airports to Harwich/Dover/Southampton could be the most expensive ride of your life.
And that's assuming you don't get caught in London traffic( the current average speed of traffic in London is only 11 miles per hour) and for either airport you have to drive across London unless you want to add almost another 100 miles to your Journey by going around London.
