| How do I meet the driver at the airport? | The driver will be at the arrivals gate with a sign with your name on it. Please look out for him/her. To help you with this we are currently producing rough guides to each terminal at each airport see Airport terminal guide |
| How will the driver know what time to get to the airport? | All incoming flights are Monitored for arrival times via screens in our office we despatch your driver to arrive at the airport at about the same time as your flight lands. Try it for yourself have a look at the live flight arrivals for Gatwick Airport |
| How long will the driver wait for me? | Up to 90 Minutes after your flight lands. after 90 mins we will make enquires about you if we cannot find you or contact you we will leave the airport |
| What if I fail to meet my driver at the arrivals gate? | Sometimes weather/traffic problems can delay a driver Or it may be that the car parks are full and we cant get parked with all of our booking confirmations you are given a telephone number PLEASE bring this with you its the ONLY way you have of contacting us from the airport |
| What if I still fail to make contact with my driver? | Once you have made a booking with us along with your confirmation you will also be given the name and cellphone number of the driver doing your transfer you should always call this cellphone number first |
| What hours are there people at your call centre? | We are an INTERNET based company so we tend to keep the hours that we need to as a general rule we are there from 09:00-17:00 mon-fri and 10:00-15:00 at sun if we are not in the office there is an ansaphone and you will be given the mumber of a cellphone to call |
| How long will the journey take? | That really depends on where you are going and what time of day it is. If you are going to central London allow 1-1.5 hrs if you are coming into Heathrow or Stansted and 1-2 hrs if you are coming into Gatwick Traffic in London is unpredictable we use all sorts of information to help us with the times including Live London Traffic Cameras to help us. |
| I have sent you a booking via your ONLINE BOOKING form what happens next. | You will receive an email from us confirming your reservation and contact details should you fail to meet your driver at the airport. |
| How much Luggage can I get into your cars? | UK Saloon (sedan) cars have limited Luggage space as a Rule-of-Thumb Two adults and two children will have 4 cases they will just fit into a saloon car if you have more luggage than this we can supply by request an Estate car (station-wagon) for an extra Five pounds or an MPV for an extra 50% of the fare these cars have to be booked in advance. | What happens if my luggage will not fit in your cars? | Put simply that is your problem we have given enough warnings about luggage capacity of our vehicles on all of our web pages the driver will either refuse to take you or will only take the luggage he can carry and suggest you use a forwarding company for the rest. A word of warning if your luggage will not fit and we refuse to carry you it will cost you a small fortune to get from the airport by a company based there. please take the time to read our Luggage capacities page. |
| Can you take me to the airport/docks as well? | Yes we can if your journey starts in London its at our fixed price if it is outside of London we will give you a very competitive price for your journey |
| Do you just go to London or can I book a journey elsewhere? | No we don't just go to London we will take you to anywhere in the UK check out our Price list for some of our more popular destinations |
| This is the first time I have visited the UK and I would like to see some of London's famous sights on the way to my destination can you arrange this? | Yes we can although we are not Tour Guides our drivers know where all the famous sites In London are and if you request the driver will take you past these however if we will charge £20:00 (Twenty pounds per hour) if your original journey does not take you past any of the sites you want to see |
| I am travelling with young Children do you do seats for them? | Yes we do If you request child seats when you book we carry three sizes 0-2yrs 2-4yrs and booster cushions for 5-7yrs there is no extra charge for this. |
| I am a Woman travelling on my own I would like a female driver can you supply one? | Yes we can by request although we only have a few female drivers available as much notice as is possible would be needed |
| Can I smoke in the car? | As a Company we operate a NO SMOKING POLICY for our drivers however your driver may allow you to smoke in the car if the driver does he will charge you an extra Five pounds for your journey as his car will have to be thoroughly cleaned and checked before the driver collects his next passengers. |
| Will I have to wear a seat belt in the car? | Absolutely Both front and rear seat belts are compulsory here in the UK. if you do not wear one you can be fined for failing to do so by the Police. |
| How can I pay? | By Cash (sterling) Travellers cheque (sterling) or a Sterling Cheque drawn on a UK bank. WE take All MAJOR CREDIT CARDS |
| Why don't you take Dollars? | The UK has its own Currency (Sterling) The U$ Dollar is not really accepted here nor are US dollar travellers cheques (except in a very few stores) if you only bring US dollars and expect to spend them here you are in for a major surprise change your currency to sterling before you leave you can still change it at the airport if you require but its cheaper to do it at home. |
| You offer a cheap service does this mean I have to share with others? | No! the price you pay is per car for you and your party only. |
| You offer a cheap service does this mean your cars are old wrecks? | No! The oldest car we have on our fleet is a 1997 Toyota Emina and that is kept in immaculate condition the average age of our fleet is 3 years old many of the cars are top-of-the-line models they are all maintained to standards far above that required by the Ministry of Transport for road worthiness |
| Are there any hidden costs? | No! the only time you will incur extra costs is if you keep us waiting for more than 50 mins or you misrepresent your destination/number of passengers/amount of luggage all credit card payments are +10% booking fee see our main page small print section |
| Do you have the proper Insurance for passengers? | UK law requires that we carry at least Third Party Hire and Reward Insurance (Private Hire) all of our cars carry this as a minimum and most of fleet is insured through CABSURE Insurance under their Taxifleet Scheme this is the same scheme that many many Black cab drivers use |
| Has london got a crime problem? | Like any other cities London has crime but not on the scale of a lot of other countries generally you are quite safe walking the streets here any time day or Night. Our police force is NOT ARMED they do not need to be as Violent Gun crime does not happen here on a regular basis. The only police that are armed are those guarding the airports and embassies. You are not allowed to have Mace Pepper Spray CS gas Knives or Guns in the UK if you bring them into the country and they are found you will be gaoled for it. You also cannot bring in CB radio or any other form of Radio transceiver. |
| What about taxes? | Almost everything in the UK is subject to V.A.T ( Value added Tax) at 17.5% however unlike the US the price is already included in the goods so you don't have to add it on. As a visitor to the UK you are able to claim the VAT that you have paid on goods and services back as you leave the country see the VAT refund leaflets in the arrivals halls of the airports. |
| Your prices seem to be too good to be true why is this? | We are a specialist airport transfer company unlike many of our competitors we dont hide anything away and we give you all the bad news up front so if you look at our competitors closely you will see that they hide things like "meet-N-greet" charges away in the small print also unlike licenced Taxi's PRIVATE HIRE vehicles dont have enormous overheads so we can undercut the price of any Taxi firm |
| Why is your Heathrow price different to your Gatwick and Stansted price | Heathrow is nearer to central London than the other two airports Gatwick is almost 50 miles outside of central London and Stansted is almost 50 miles outside of London journeys from the last two take longer than from Heathrow |
| Why are your transfers between airports more expensive than your journeys into London? | Not many people realise this But none of London's airport are actually in London they are all outside Heathrow is in Middlesex Gatwick is in West Sussex Stansted is in Essex to get from one airport to another you have to go into London and back out again. |
| I see references made to the "M25 area" of London what does that mean? | Although not following strict geographical boundaries London is surrounded by an Orbital Motorway (Freeway) we use this motorway as our boundary to where london begins and ends please see Map |
| What are the check in times at the airports for depatures | Heathrow Gatwick and Stansted quote a 2 hour minimum check in time for international flights and 1 hour for domestic flights |
| Do I have to book in advance or do you have cars stationed at the airports? | Although we are constantly going backwards and forwards to the airports its very rare we have any cars going "Empty" on a journey we do not station cars at the airports so all journeys have to be booked in advance.This is actually a LEGAL requiremnt for us we can only operate on PRE-BOOKED Journeys |
| Is Tipping compulsory? | No Tipping is regarded as a sign of good service here if you decide not to tip then no-one will think any less of you. All our drivers expect from you is the fare you were quoted and if you decide to tip then I am sure that they will appreciate it.
We only take Sterling for the fares However if you decide to tip in US dollars then that is no problem. |
| If I am going to the airport or going onto another destination do you guarantee to get me there on time? | No! dont be so silly. This question probably costs us more business than any other however in line with our "the price you see is the price you pay Policy" Honesty is always best you are purchasing a "destination" service from us we guarantee to get you where you are going we try and plan for the very worst and allow enough time for your journey but we cannot be held responsible for things that may go wrong mechanical breakdowns traffic jams bad weather etc. all we promise is that we will do our very best to get you to your destination on time. If any other company gives guarantees that they can do it by a certain time then they are liars. |
