If you are another car service spying on the competition or you are involved in the Travel industry in any way you really should read this to the end
Here in London we have 2 of the Worlds busiest international airports (Gatwick and Heathrow) as well as one of the Major hubs for Europe (Stansted) here are some key facts about these airports
(all facts and figured about London's Airports obtained from the The British Airports Authority Web Site)

Heathrow Gatwick Ok I know all you can see are facts and figures that don't really mean much well let me put it into terms that do mean something.
The UK (i think) is a sometimes strange country with some oddities Like how about these ones Now london has some great Public transport links which is exactly what they are PUBLIC not just for transferring passengers or tourists
To get from Heathrow to your hotel in CENTRAL LONDON would involve at least two forms of Public transport the same applies for Gatwick Now imagine this london has a population of 8 million people and in the rush hours there are millions of people going from one place to another you have just arrived at Heathrow and you want to get to your hotel well one way you could choose is the tube (Subway) great; the tube stop is in the terminal and your party of four doesn't mind getting themselves and their luggage down several escalators onto a Small cramped train with little luggage space which in about 7 stops from where are will get absolutely jam packed with commuters sardines wouldn't even get a look in.
Then once you have dealt with that negotiated even more escalators/steps with your heavy and cumbersome luggage only to find that you are faced with quite a walk dragging your luggage or having to go by bus or taxi to your final destination.
Great if you are a Luggage Porter for a living but for most people its not a good way to travel.
So you can see the potential for people needing to use a good reliable transfer service is enormous.
But it gets better since October 2001 it has BEEN illegal for any car service to operate without a Licence from the Public Carriage Office out of London's estimated 8000+ car services less than 1000 have been granted a licence (yes we have one well in fact we have 5 licences). BUT it gets better by the end of 2002 Driver and vehicle licensing becomes law its estimated that there are over 500000 Private hire vehicles in London but when the licensing for drivers Comes in its estimated that less than 10% of existing drivers will qualify for a licence (these are only estimated figures because until licensing comes in fully no-one really knows how many private hire drivers there are in London).
This means by the end of 2002 the demand for private hire vehicles will Increase yet the availability of drivers and vehicles will decrease.
This also means that services like ours will be very very much in demand (All of our drivers/vehicles already far exceed the qualifications for licensing).
People in other countries already using other car services here will suddenly find their favourite service gone almost overnight meaning they will need another one by advertising us and our services we are confident that our affiliates will help benefit from the Increased demand yet shortage of services like ours.

Now heres the Biggy and I am assuming you have some knowledge of the internet and that the know that the .US Top Level Domain has just been released well (And I have to rely on my pet internet expert here the following is what he tells me)
We already own some of the most desirable domain names in the Airport Transfers Business such as etc etc and some 123 others as well all Keyword specific and relating to our industry
Well we also own the domain airporttransfers.us and the way the search engines work anyone in the States looking for airport transfers will come across this URL when I fully activate and promote it any of the above URLs can be pointed to anywhere I choose and I keep full Logs and stats on these names so I know exactely how many people visit them each day.

I will leave the techie bits to the techies its all greek to me anyway!.
But what I can see is that there is a MASSIVE potential for us and several other companies to help each other out
Just for instance what would pointing the domain airporttransfers.us at a USA based Limo service do for their business??? or what would advertising your other country business on our site do for you? especially if you were the ONLY business from the city you serve being advertised these are just a few ideas I am playing about with at the moment but you might even have an idea or a proposal? or you are interested in the potential of the market we are in.
Just think about this for a moment a site called worldwidetaxi where anyone looking for a taxi/car service in any country would find ONE local to them or for the city they are searching in
Heres another little fact the internet is expanding at the rate of 1 million users per day what a MASSIVE potential market that is!.
Perhaps its just me? perhaps I am just a dreamer? perhaps I am just thinking that in less than 20 years from now almost everyone on the planet will have access to the internet? perhaps this will be the BIGGEST form of mass communication media ever? Perhaps within 20 years any sort of company that hasnt got any sort of Internet prescence wont survive.
Prior to the Internet the only way companies like us could reach audiences in other countries was paying fortunes to advertise in that countries media now thanks to the internet those people in other countries needing to use your/our services can reach us easily and quickly.
BUT this is only the conception of the internet revolution the child has yet to be born. I would ask you to try and imagine what that really means but I already know you can how do i know? well simple really you are reading this and that means the INTERNET alone has brought you here.

Here's another thought for you what if you are a Limo service in another country and you take people to the airport for destinations abroad all the time well how about being able to offer them the option of booking "thru-transfers" with you?
Right now you still have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor now think a few years ahead air-fares and travel costs are coming down all the time the Internet is still growing at a phenominal rate in a few years time where do you want to be?.
This really is a GLOBAL VILLAGE and the boundaries are getting smaller all the time.
Do the idea's work? well if you didnt spot it at the top of the main page this entire website is a collaberation between 5 different companies all working together and all mutually benefiting each other and I can quite safely state that all of these companies are doing a lot better than they would have done without being a part of this website.
Now I am going to tell you a true story I own one of the companies already involved in this project BUT I am NOT the brains behind it all.
The guy who Bought all of us together is and he doesnt even work for any of us.
10 years ago he started on the Internet and he had an idea about airport transfers and how the internet could benefit him and the company he was working for
They told him it was a bad idea the internet was a "toy" and it wouldnt catch on well he took this idea to quite a lot of other companies as well and they all said more or less the same thing
well he is a friend of mine I listened to what he had to say and agreed with him well in just 5 years we have seen his idea become a reality and because of it all the companies involved have dramatically increased their turnover
And of course the original company he took this idea to as well as one or two others are now no longer trading
Does that tell you anything? it tells me that I know why the dinosaurs are now extinct.
